It is rumoured that The Weeknd has made a track for the TV show “Game of Thrones”. The singer of the top song “Call out my name” was approached to create a track “for fans” who then brought Travis Scott and SZA to work on the project. The music has been especially designed for the season 8 of the show. The release date and the exact episode for which the song has been made have not been revealed yet. However, a video on the ‘Game of Thrones’ Instagram account showed the cast vamping to music that contains elements of a song by the Weekend.

Drake announces new album during a concert

According to Nielsen Music, Scorpion by Drake was the most popular album of 2018. Moreover, the rapper is eyeing the first position for the ninth time on the Billboard 200 albums chart. On the 9th of April, while performing in London for his Assassination Vacation tour, the artist announced that he is already working on another record less than a year after Scorpion’s release. He said, “I kinda actually started last night to be honest with you. But I think what I’ma do after this is go home, and I’ma make a new album so I can come back to London next year and we can do this again”. This has left Drake fans overjoyed.

Happier by Marshmello and Bastille is still on the charts

Despite the fact that it has been released more than six months ago, “Happier” is still a huge hit. The top song by Marshmello and Bastille has been among the best performing tracks on several ranking tables. It is at number six on the Hot 100 chart. Moreover, it is still at the top position on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs table. The song has now become Second-Longest-Running No. 1 in the latter’s chart history. The pop singer Britney Spears is joining others, such as Tina Turner and Carole King, in the list of artists whose songs have been played in a stage musical. Her hit tracks “Oops!… I Did It Again”, “… Baby One More Time”, “Toxic” and “Stronger” will be used in a theatre comedy. Called “Once Upon a One More Time”, it will open his fall at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago. Britney Spears advanced that she is “so excited to have a musical with [her] songs”.

Bebe Rexha drops the music video of Last Hurrah

On the 21st of February, Bebe Rexha dropped the music video of her latest single. Called “Last Hurrah”, the track was released on the 15th of the same month. The clip is a very creative one, opening with the singer dressed as an angel. After a while, it shows her dancing and partying. By the end of the music video, she is pictured in a flaming doorway, following which she brandishes a fire extinguisher as she faces a wall of fire. The clip is a reflection of the lyrics for “Last Hurrah” in which Bebe Rexha aims to forsake her bad habits.

Last year, the London rappers Fredo and Dave worked on the creation and launch of new music together. In October, they released a track called “Funky Friday”. It was a huge success, instantly shooting to number one in the U.K. This success also increased the popularity of the singer Dave. Fredo has recently dropped a track with the other singer as a featured artist. As such, a lot of people are advancing that this new song, which is named “All I Ever Wanted”, is a sequel to the song launched last year.

Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” record has captured the hearts of many. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and represents the best sales week of the singer’s career. It opened with a total of 360,000 copies. Out of this, 116,000 are from traditional album sales and 228,000 are from streaming equivalent albums (SEAs). According to Billboard, this compilation totalled the most first-week streams ever for a female artist’s album or a pop album. In comparison, in August 2018, Ariana Grande’s “Sweetener” debuted with 231,000 total copies sold.
